Old Testament

Psa 50:1~52:9

Ps 50

1 The Mighty One, God Jehovah, / Speaks and summons the earth / From the rising of the sun to its setting.

2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, / God shines forth.

3 Our God has come and will not be silent; / Fire devours before Him, / And around Him it is exceedingly tempestuous.

4 He calls to the heavens above, / And to the earth that He may judge His people:

5 Gather My saints to Me, / Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.

6 Then the heavens declare His righteousness, / For God Himself is Judge. Selah

7 Hear, O My people, and I will speak; / O Israel, and I will testify against you: / I am God, your God.

8 I will not reprove you because of your sacrifices, / And your burnt offerings are before Me continually.

9 I will not take a bull from your house / Nor goats from your folds,

10 For every animal of the forest is Mine, / The cattle upon a thousand hills.

11 I know every bird of the mountains, / And I am aware of everything that moves in the field.

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you; / For the world is Mine and the fullness thereof.

13 Shall I eat the flesh of bulls / Or drink the blood of goats?

14 Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, / And repay your vows to the Most High;

15 And call upon Me in the day of trouble: / I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.

16 But to the wicked God says, / What right do you have to declare My statutes / And take up My covenant in your mouth,

17 Seeing that you hate correction / And cast My words behind you?

18 When you see a thief, you take pleasure in him; / And your portion is with adulterers.

19 You let your mouth loose for evil, / And your tongue frames deceit.

20 You sit and speak against your brother; / You defame the son of your mother.

21 These things you do, and I keep silent; / You think that I am altogether like you. / I will rebuke you and set forth the matter in order before your eyes.

22 Consider this then, you who forget God, / Lest I tear you apart and there be none to deliver you.

23 Whoever offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies Me; / And to him who sets his way right I will show the salvation of God.

Ps 51

1 Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; / According to the greatness of Your compassions blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, / And from my sin cleanse me.

3 For I do know my transgressions, / And my sin is before me continually.

4 Against You and You alone have I sinned, / And I have done what is evil in Your sight. / Therefore You are righteous when You speak; / You are clear when You judge.

5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, / And in sin did my mother conceive me.

6 Behold, You delight in truth in the inward parts; / And in the hidden part You would make known wisdom to me.

7 Purge my sin with hyssop, and I will be clean; / Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

8 Let me hear gladness and joy, / That the bones which You have broken may exult.

9 Hide Your face from my sins, / And blot out all my iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, / And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me from Your presence, / And do not take the Spirit of Your holiness away from me.

12 Restore to me the gladness of Your salvation, / And sustain me with a willing spirit.

13 I will teach transgressors Your ways, / And sinners will turn back to You.

14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, O God of my salvation; / And my tongue will ring forth Your righteousness.

15 O Lord, open my lips, / And my mouth will declare Your praise.

16 For You do not delight in sacrifice; / Otherwise I would offer it; / You take no pleasure in burnt offerings.

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; / A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

18 Do good in Your good pleasure unto Zion; / Build the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then You will delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, / In burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; / Then they will offer bulls upon Your altar.

Ps 52

1 Why do you boast in evil, O mighty one? / God’s lovingkindness endures continually.

2 Your tongue devises destruction; / It is like a sharpened razor, O worker of deceit.

3 You have loved evil rather than good, / Falsehood rather than speaking righteousness. Selah

4 You have loved all the devouring words, / O deceitful tongue.

5 God will likewise break you down forever; / He will take you and pluck you up from your tent, / And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

6 And the righteous will see it and fear, / And they will laugh at him, saying,

7 Behold, this is that mighty man / Who did not make God his strength, / But trusted in the multitude of his riches / And strengthened himself in his desire.

8 But I, like a flourishing olive tree / In the house of God, / Trust in God’s lovingkindness / Forever and ever.

9 I will give You thanks forever, / For You have acted; / And I will hope in Your name in the presence of Your faithful ones, / For it is good.

New Testament

Rom 12:1~21

Rom 12

1 I exhort you therefore, brothers, through the compassions of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And do not be fashioned according to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and well pleasing and perfect.

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think, but to think so as to be sober-minded, as God has apportioned to each a measure of faith.

4 For just as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same function,

5 So we who are many are one Body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

6 And having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

7 Or service, let us be faithful in that service; or he who teaches, in that teaching;

8 Or he who exhorts, in that exhortation; he who gives, in simplicity; he who leads, in diligence; he who shows mercy, in cheerfulness.

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.

10 Love one another warmly in brotherly love; take the lead in showing honor one to another.

11 Do not be slothful in zeal, but be burning in spirit, serving the Lord.

12 Rejoice in hope; endure in tribulation; persevere in prayer.

13 Contribute to the needs of the saints; pursue hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.

16 Be of the same mind toward one another, not setting your mind on the high things but going along with the lowly; do not be wise in yourselves.

17 Repay no one evil for evil; take forethought for things honorable in the sight of all men.

18 If possible, as far as it depends on you, live in peace with all men.

19 Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath of God, for it is written, “ Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.”

20 But “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will heap coals of fire upon his head.”

21 Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
